Emergency Situations
In case of emergency, students should notify the following:
- Local authorities (if appropriate)
- Faculty Leaders
- Their families
Also, in the event of an emergency, contact the Duke Office of Global Health and Safety (OGHS) immediately by calling the dedicated emergency line – 919-452-9546. This number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it accepts phone calls, texts, and WhatsApp messages.
Faculty leaders/OGHS will initiate Duke emergency protocols by notifying Duke Immerse about the emergency.
Immerse can be reached at 919-668-7305 during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., EST). After hours, please contact OGHS at 919-452-9546.
Other General Emergency Information
The U.S. Government may be able to assist U.S. citizens having trouble overseas. Information about these services can be found on the U.S. State Department’s website.
If family members or guardians need to contact Duke Immerse, they should call 919-668-7305 during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time). After hours and on weekends, they should contact OGHS at 919-452-9546.
