Every Duke Immerse incorporates field-based experiences (i.e., daytrips, overnight stays in other parts of North Carolina, travel to other parts of the United States, global travel). These embedded travel experiences mean you will return to campus during the semester. For some, travel and experiential education can be transformational in ways that makes returning to campus uncomfortable. Connecting with people who you know and trust, possibly including academic and non-academic advisors, mentors, trusted family members and friends, to process your experiences and adjustment is encouraged. DukeReach, CAPS, and Blue Devils Care are also available to support you if you find the transition to be hard.
